Activity Stack
A clearer Business Central role center
Activity Stack brings the work that needs attention into one practical view inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It adds focused activity cards to role centers so users can spot exceptions, act on them, and drill directly into the underlying documents.
Why Activity Stack?
See the work that needs attention and move from a count to the right document in one click.
Business Central users often need to check several lists before they know what requires action. Activity Stack turns those checks into visible, role-based cues that are available when the role center opens.
What it does
Activity Stack adds CardPart activity cards with live counts and drill-down actions for:
- Sales: shipped but not invoiced, open orders, blanket orders, late sales orders, and sales orders not printed.
- Customer payments: late customer payments and the user's late customer payments.
- Purchases: purchase orders not printed.
- Production: released production orders, almost-late production orders, and production orders to finish.
- Transfers: transfers to ship, transfers to receive, and shipped transfers not received.
- Vendor payments: payments to process, payments to approve, and late vendor payments.
- Warehouse: picks, put-aways, and moves in progress, plus warehouse receipts.
Each cue is read-only and drillable. Selecting a cue opens the relevant Business Central list or filtered view, helping users move from awareness to action without navigating through multiple menus.
Role-based experience
The activity cards are added to role centers according to the work performed by each role. The Business Manager role center provides the broadest overview, while operational roles receive the cards that are most relevant to their daily work. This keeps the role center useful without filling it with unrelated information.
Centralized activity logic
The extension keeps counting and drill-down behavior in a central management codeunit. The activity pages provide the visual cues, while the shared logic keeps the filters and behavior consistent across role centers.
