Why?

Posting Date Is Today is a Business Central extension that automatically keeps unposted Sales, Purchase, Transfer, and Assembly documents dated today — no more manual clean-up of stale draft dates before posting.

What does it do?

Nightly Automated Date Correction

  • A recurring Job Queue entry runs overnight and forces the Posting Date and Document Date of eligible unposted documents to today.
  • Documents whose dates already match today are skipped, so only genuinely stale documents are touched.

Granular Control by Document Type

  • Choose exactly which document types are updated, each with its own on/off switch on the Setup page: Sales Orders, Sales Invoices, Sales Credit Memos, Sales Return Orders, Purchase Orders, Purchase Invoices, Purchase Credit Memos, Purchase Return Orders, Transfer Orders, and Assembly Orders.
  • Every switch is off by default — you opt in only to the document types you want managed.

Released Document Handling

  • An Include Released Documents switch controls whether Released Sales and Purchase documents are temporarily reopened, updated, and re-released automatically.
  • Transfer Orders and Assembly Orders are only updated while still Open, to avoid disturbing in-progress warehouse and assembly processes.

Job Queue Visibility, Right on the Setup Page

  • See at a glance whether the nightly job has been created, when it last ran, and when it's next due to run — with a drill-down straight to the Job Queue Entry Card.

Safe and Transparent

  • Errors on an individual document are logged and skipped, never stopping the rest of the batch.
  • Install, upgrade, and batch runs are all logged via Business Central telemetry for easy monitoring.
