User Setup Dates Allowed
Why?
User Setup Dates Allowed is a Business Central extension that automatically keeps the allowed posting and VAT dates for selected users locked to the current month — protecting month-end reporting from transactions entered in the wrong period, without relying on someone to remember a manual update.
What does it do?
- Add an Enable Date Control flag to each user's setup — choose which users are managed automatically (e.g. warehouse or data-entry staff) and which are left untouched (e.g. super users who need broader access).
- Every enabled user's Allow Posting From/To and Allow VAT Date From/To are recalculated to the first and last day of the current month.
- Run the update on demand with the Update Allowed Dates action, available directly on the User Setup list and on General Ledger Setup.
- Or automate it entirely: the Create Date Control Job Queue action on General Ledger Setup schedules a daily job that keeps dates current without any manual steps — even after a missed run, the next execution always corrects to the current month.
- General Ledger Setup shows at a glance whether the job queue has been created, when it last ran, and when it is next due — with a direct link to open the Job Queue Entry card.
